1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MetadataRemover.in (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all terms and conditions, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

MetadataRemover.in provides client-side, in-browser digital media sanitization utilities that strip metadata (EXIF, IPTC, XMP, GPS, C2PA Content Credentials) from supported image formats. Because all processing executes in your browser's memory, your files are never transmitted to, stored on, or processed by our servers.

3. User Content & Intellectual Property Rights

MetadataRemover does not claim ownership of your files or request a license to use them. Because all operations execute locally within your web browser memory, your files are never transmitted to, hosted on, or stored by our servers. Processing a file through this utility does not alter whatever legal rights, title, or ownership you or any third party may hold in the file under applicable law.

4. Permitted & Prohibited Use

You agree to use the Service solely for lawful purposes. You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary legal rights and permissions to modify, inspect, and strip metadata from the files you process using the Service.

You agree not to use the Service in connection with:

  • Infringement of any third party's copyright, trademark, trade secret, or intellectual property rights.
  • Unlawful removal of copyright management information (CMI) in violation of applicable laws (such as 17 U.S.C. § 1202) where such removal is done knowingly to induce or conceal copyright infringement.
  • Fraudulent alteration of evidence or tampering with legal or forensic documentation.

5. Technical Scope & Processing Disclaimer

The software provides file container sanitization (including EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and C2PA markers). It does not alter underlying image pixel matrices or remove invisible pixel-embedded watermarks (such as Google SynthID). Processing capabilities depend on browser support and client hardware resources.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. METADATAREMOVER MAKES NO GUARANTEES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR CAPABLE OF REMOVING EVERY ARTIFACT, PERCEPTUAL WATERMARK, OR EMBEDDED IDENTIFIER FROM ALL FILE TYPES.

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL METADATAREMOVER OR ITS OPERATORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, FILE CORRUPTION, OR LOSS OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY REPUTATION.

8. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to revise or replace these Terms at any time. Material updates will be documented with a revised "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
